FOA: MAP ROOM BUG?

Reported by: SF/phatphat Owned by:
Priority: normal Component: Engine: SCUMM
Version: Keywords:
Cc: Game: Indiana Jones 4

Description

In the team path, game will not allow you to progress (the three stone disks do not work) if you are holding the box and orichalcum beads once you have the found the map room. This is after having given the box and beads to sophia and used the amber fish to find the map room. Once you are in the map room, it does not allow you to get to the dialogue to give sophia the box with the beads, so the stones do not work.

I've read this, and I can't understand what you're trying to do. I remember that you had to give Sophia the box so that she can put her necklace inside, as that confused the amber fish. When done correctly, you found another room, and Sophia gave you back the box. Then, you went in the map room and you were able to use the 3 disks on the spindle in the middle (After having read Plato's dialogue). You're not supposed to give Sophia the box with the beads again, once you're in the map room

To process your bug report appropriately, we need you to provide the following additional information:

* ScummVM version (PLEASE test the latest CVS/Daily build) * Bug details, including instructions on reproducing it * Language of game (English, German, ...) * Version of game (talkie, floppy, ...) * Platform and Compiler (Win32, Linux, MacOS, ...) * Attach a save game if possible * If this bug only occurred recently, please note the last version without the bug, and the first version including the bug. That way we can fix it quicker by looking at the changes made.

This should only take you a little time but will make it much easier for us to process your bug report in a way that satisfies both you and us.

Thank you for your support!

SCUMMVM ARM CE verson (for PPC running WM5). Game version is English for PC and it is running on T-mobile Vario 2 (known as HTC Hermes, Orange M3100, Voda 8525, HTC TYTN, VPA Compact III, Dopod CHT 9000, Dopod 838 Pro, XDA trion.

Problem not resolved but solution figured out: thebluegr - you are absolutely right. the problem is not with the necklace.

I believe it's a bug in the PPC version: When you have to use all three stones (in map room, and at atlantis entrance) the combination is 90 degrees out. You have the lost dialogue of plato which has the clues (different depending on which path and random factor) and the combination is in there so you must follow the clues to line up symbols with the horns at the top. Instead the bug I have experienced means for some reason you must rotate them so the symbols line up at the three O'clock mark - (i.e. 90 degrees clockwise from the horns which are at 12 o'clock).

I'm not sure if this is caused by the fact you must rotate the screen to landscape (default is portrait) but this does not affect any of the other puzzles or times you must use the stones. this same bug has been reported by two other PPC users I know.

I believe that's the same behavior in the PC version for that puzzle. Have you tried the save game with a version of ScummVM for the PC (e.g. Win32, *nix etc)? It sounds very strange that only a particular screen of the game (and not the whole game) is affected by the platform that ScummVM runs under
