#7447 | wontfix | 2XPM -- Yet Another Filter
Description |
But this one is the filter to rule them all. HQ2X is one of the better filters out there, but it has one serious limitation: it doesn't handle "jaggies" very well when there's a lot of colours in the picture. Basically, it works great in EGA games but not so great in VGA games. This is where Pablo Medina's 2XPM comes to the front. Overall, it looks very much like HQ2X, except that it can smooth out manually-antialiased curves without blurring the whole picture and no higher CPU overhead than HQ2X. Look out the screnshoots at the this website for comparison (particularly the "Fido Slido" text). http://2xpm.tripod.com/ Ticket imported from: #1315759. Ticket imported from: feature-requests/263. |

#8474 | outdated | 2xPM scaler
Description |
I was curious after reading feature request #1315759 and looked at the 2xPM and 2xPM_LQ scalers (original site: <http:// 2xpm.tripod.com>). Thanks to our flexible scaler infrastructure ;-), it was easy to experimentally include these two scalers, see the attached file (copy the .cpp files into common/scaler/, after that apply the patch). Note that the code hasn't been optimized nor cleaned up according to our coding conventions, since it was meant as a quick hack only and since I don't even know if we actually want to include these changes or not... It would be trivial to change that, though. Ticket imported from: #1326624. Ticket imported from: patches/579. |
