COMI: Guybrush walks in place; ESC doesn't stop speech

Reported by: SF/buffmcmanly Owned by:
Priority: normal Component: Engine: SCUMM
Version: Keywords: script
Cc: Game: Monkey Island 3

Description

* ScummVM version: 0.13.0. * Language of game: English. * Version of game: Regular CD-ROM, purchased in Europe, all required contents from the CD copied into harddrive like the instructions in the readme said. * Platform and Compiler: Win32, normal version from the Downloads-page.

* Bug details:

"Examine"ing the clock tower in Puerto Pollo, which makes Guybrush tell you the time, while walking causes Guybrush not to stop; instead he keeps walking in place while saying the time. He keeps doing it even after he turns to the screen and says "Beep", and after he's done talking. He stops only when you click him to a different place or open the inventory. Done in the main square of Puerto Pollo and at the Field of Honor (Where the caber toss and dueling banjos take place)

Also, another bug I came across was inside the Barbery Coast while talking to Edward van Helgen (dapper pirate). Skipping some conversations with him, like his comments on Guybrush's singing, with the ESC-button doesn't stop the last line spoken like normally, instead it's text and the voice of van Helgen keeps going while your dialogue options pop up. This can be done in the following way: Talk with him until you get the line "I can be the fourth for your barber shop quartet!" Then, pick a song, skip it with the "."-button, then when van Helgen comments on Guybrush's singing, press ESC.

I just discovered that bug #1 also happens if you try to Examine the "distant beach" at the Field of Honor. Reproducable the same way as the first one; Walk somewhere, and when Guybrush is walking, press "e" while hovering the mouse cursor over the distant beach-object (I forgot to tell that you have to press "e", not use the "Action Coin", with the first bug as well, sorry for that)

Another thing that I noticed is that sometimes while in the inventory when you try to use/combine one item with an other item, the "Action Coin" pops up for a second and then dissapears.

Just discovered another inventory bug. Basicly, trying to use the cooking oil with the (regular) mug makes Guybrush say, oddly enough, "I don't think he'd like that" Doesn't work vice-versa, only if you use the cooking oil with the mug. Picture added to files.

SCUMMVM error, or a real bug in the original game as well? I didn't find this one documented anywhere else on the net, so it's your call.

I once again got bug #1. This time outside the Goodsoup Hotel on Blood Island. Examining the tiki lanterns, again with the "e"-button, while walking makes Guybrush walk on place yet again.

I also noticed that the recipe book, which you get from the bar table inside the hotel, doesn't seem to scroll the pages correctly. A minor graphical bug, but still noticeble.

Thanks for the submission. However, please file one report for each separate bug. Having multiple bugs in one report make its very difficult to accurately track them.

Sorry about that. I thought it would be more resonable to add several bugs on one report to save space and not make the place all clogged up, as it already pretty much is. Will in the future make a separate report for different bugs.

well, it is quite hard for me to process this bugreport.

buffmcmanly, could you, please, submit two instead of this one?
