Description
In German version the subtitles are hidden when words have umlauts.

Umlauted characters don't appear correctly in the German 16-colour version either. It looks like the problem - or part of it, at least - is that fontCharacterTable[] is incorrect and/or incomplete for the German version, because it contains -1 for those characters. I'm afraid I don't know how to extract the correct table.
