#1688 closed defect (invalid)

"room 28 not in room 28"

Reported by: SF/renosix Owned by: Kirben
Priority: normal Component: Engine: SCUMM
Version: Keywords:
Cc: Game: Monkey Island 1

Description

When starting Monkey Island 1 VGACD (as off of the Monkey Madness disc; if it matters, I got mine bundled with the LEC Classics release of CMI), all is well until I try to enter the SCUMM Bar. The game launches the debugger and gives me this error:

"room 28 not in room 28 at 1342104+0 in file monkey.001"

Furthermore, when I exit the first screen through the archway, ScummVM bottoms out and crashes without even bothering to give me an error. It should be mentioned that both problems are nonexistent when running the game normally, without using ScummVM. System:

OS: Windows XP SP1 CPU: 2.80GHz Celeron RAM: 512mb Video: nVidia GeForce4 MX 4000 CD-RW 48x/24x/48x ScummVM: 0.6.1

AFAIK, this was happening in 0.6.0 as well. I know I've had the error before, and I just downloaded the newest ScummVM stable release today and tried again. Sorry if this has been mentioned elsewhere, I found no references to it anywhere.

The is a Windows issue, it is unable to get data and music for the CD fast enough. This issue is mentioned in the readme file. Just copy the data files to the hard disk and play the game from there instead.
