WII: Crash in Monkey Island

Reported by: SF/hajime80 Owned by: dhewg
Priority: normal Component: Engine: SCUMM

Cc: Game: Monkey Island 1

Description

Hallo Mates.

I was going to report a crash when running Monkey Island on my Nintendo Wii. When you are on Melee island you can´t enter the "Fork" area without the storekeeper. When you follow him to see the swordmaster everyting works, if you keep on tracking him. If you enter the fork area and stop following him the system will also crash. With "crash" I mean the program will shutdown and you will be thrown out to the homebrew channel. I am using CD/Dos version of the game for PC. And your scummvm-0.12.0-wii.

Using the CD version with ripped audio files, i can enter the "fork" with a new game and your savegame too. Works fine on 0.12.0, the 0.13.0 branch and trunk. Please try playing exactly that version with ScummVM on your PC (add the game with the GUI directly from the SD card).

Hallo again Mate. Many thanks for the respond. I have tried playing the game on my PC, both from my harddrive and SD card. Works perfectly fine. New game and savegame, just perfect. The problem is on the Nintendo Wii console using scummvm-0.12.0-wii. There and only there the game crashes when I am entering "Fork" without the storekeeper. It crashes with a "New game" also on the Wii. Did you try the game on the Wii? Best regards Jimmy

IVE SOLVED THE PROBLEM!!!! The crash only happens when you have .ogg music files. I simply converted the files to .MP3. Many thanks to all you guys, especially the forum guys. So there seems to be something wrong with the Wii versions handling of .ogg files because it works perfectly on PC.
