DRASCULA: Wrong language detection(?) and crash

Reported by: raziel- Owned by: sev-
Priority: normal Component: Engine: Drascula
Version: Keywords:
Cc: Game: Drascula

Description

ScummVM 0.12.0svn (May 30 2008 09:35:52) Features compiled in: Vorbis FLAC MP3 zLib MPEG2

I get a crash after the first music cues have been played. Crash log attached.

Also i'm "quite" sure that my version is NOT the german version. First, there is not a single line of text in german, neither on the CD inlays nor on the disc itself (doc) Second, i bought the version from a guy in the states. OK, that doesn't say anything, but it would be funny if he didn't tell me it was the german version when i AM german, wouldn't it? :-)

Drascula: The Vampire Strikes Back (DOS/German) ?????

AmigaOS4 gcc version 4.0.2 (AmigaOS build 20051012)

With the latest patches from sev the crash went away.

Seeing the intro video, the palette changes in wrong colors (Screenshot attached) Instead in different stages of black it cycles through different colors, looking icky

Plus the picture on the screenshot is the last place i can reach for now as the intro stops there, cycling through the (wrong) palette over and over again.

Quitting not possible, killing not possible, stuck like an ant in a honey drop File Added: Screengrab.000

I've made some changes to drascula, can you check if it's still crashing?

comment:6 by bluegr, 16 years ago

Also, concerning the wrong language detection, you got the same version as me and sev got. Perhaps you installed the German language by mistake?

You can always copy the original packed files and try with those - in fact, the directory looks very tidy with the 3 packed files, instead of the loads of unpacked ones :)

@thebluegr As said in my last post, the crash itself went away

wrt language selection, i was mistaken, i thought i need to install all the packets (packet.002 and .003) ought to be the language packs, only installing packet.001 gives me the English/DOS version - this one solved

wrt to the wrong palette and the infinite palette change and lockup at the castle window (after the flash of lighning happened and the tower window is moved towards the camera - still the same, no change

Could you please try again with the latest SVN version?

comment:9 by raziel-, 16 years ago

With latest build the crash went away, i can get into the game, but it crashes on exit.

I will file another bug report if requested or add the crash log to this one, please let me know
