#12827 closed defect (fixed)

TWINE: Unable to exit scene on citadel island

Reported by: VonKossa Owned by: mgerhardy
Priority: high Component: Engine: TwinE
Version: Keywords:
Cc: Game: Little Big Adventure

Description

ScummVM version: Built from latest source
Language of game: English
Version of game: PC CD
Your OS: Gentoo
Bug details: When starting new game everything works as it should, i am able to escape from prison and going south down to Twinsens house, I enter the house, Hide, Get my stuff, leave from the chimney, then i am unable to go north back into town.
I have vague memorys about this some 25+ years ago, so maybe this is a bug in the original game. When i watch walkthrough videos on youtube they don´t seem to have any problems walking north back into town.
Help is needed.

This would be nice to fix before the release.

@VonKossa, could you please attach a savegame on the island?

No actually it doesn´t save at all:
LBA is expected to save when you enter a new scene but it says:

Autosave 1 Citadel Island
WARNING: trying to save thumbnail with bpp 1!

And nothing ever saves. :(

That indeed is the more important blocker issue. Will investigate the save issue first, then I'll check out the other one.

You could try to open the debug console (ctrl+shift+d) and type toggle_zones - this should show the areas that are loaded in the scene and that will allow you e.g. to jump from one scene to another.

yes, weird. the thumbnail is not saved anymore - and the savegame can't get loaded because the thumbnail is missing.

The savegame issue is fixed in 6d44405f5a3a6822b90933be1f14cd6a87dcaa47. It would be cool if you could retry and attach a savegame.

To get quicker to the scene you described, open the debug terminal (ctrl+shift+d) and type:

change_scene 4
