Description

When starting up the Gabriel Knight cd-rom game it gives a volume warning and file handle error (warning message). I obtained this game from GOG. One of the files says its version 1.0a. See attached image.

It runs just fine with no errors.

The floppy version doesn't report any warnings on startup.

ScummVM version: 1.10.0git3043-g074e466 (April 16) 64-bit for windows
Tested on windows 7, 64-bit.

The may 11th scummVM version reports the same warning.

Thanks for your report! I had one of the other team members with a copy of the GOG version of GK1 test with the current master branch and they did not see any warnings. Could you please verify:

  1. Did you install the game by following the ​datafiles instructions for GOG.com releases?
  2. Did you add the DOS or Windows version?
  3. Do these warnings still appear in the latest daily build (1.10.0git-3279-gdec12f5)?

csnover,

I extracted the GK1.gog file into a folder and ran that with scummvm and it ran just fine. Both the dos and windows platforms worked.
