my shivers french windows version is recognised as an english dos version.

Thanks for your report! This will happen when the game’s resource bundles match the size and first 5k bytes hash of the English version. This indicates that the French version of the game probably applies patches at runtime to an unmodified English version of the game.

Could you please provide a full directory listing of your Shivers game directory?:

• On Windows, run dir /s path\to\shivers\directory > directory-listing.txt and then upload the directory-listing.txt file that is created
• On *nix, run ls -lR path/to/shivers/directory > directory-listing.txt and then upload the directory-listing.txt file that is created

Thank you for the additional information.

Your version of the game is not recognised by ScummVM. Fallback detection was used to determine the game. When you start the game, ScummVM will print information in the command terminal that is needed in order to add the correct detection table entries. Please, find this information and paste it to this ticket. Thanks!
