#9629 new defect

AGOS: StS - Hebrew version ignores subtitle speed setting

Reported by: OmerMor Owned by:
Priority: normal Component: Engine: AGOS
Version: Keywords:
Cc: Game: Simon the Sorcerer 1

Description

ScummVM win32 version: 1.10.0git422-g65d0c65-dirty (2016-10-16 19:11:20).
Game: Simon the Sorcerer 1 - Hebrew DOS CD

The game seem to ignore the subtitle speed setting which can be set both in the main game options under the Audio tab, and during the game using the F1/F3 keys.

I tested the F1/F3 keys in the English DOS Floppy version and it worked correctly.

I added a missing delay that was specifically for the Hebrew version, which may help.

The F1, F2, F3 keys don't work in the multi-language (French, Hebrew, Italian, Spanish) versions of Simon the Sorcerer 1 (DOS CD), according to the original source code.

The GUI setting for subtitles has no effect on any games in AGOS engine, it is disabled in game at least.

I tried to test w/latest win32 daily but it crashes on start due to the bundled SDL2.dll (v2.0.5.0).

It would be best to add a separate bug report for that issue, I can't reproduce any crashes on startup when using ScummVM with SDL 2.0.5. on Windows 7 (x64) though.

The crash with SDL 2.0.5. is triggered by using MT-32 emulation, see bug #9630.
