Mac CD ScummVM HOWTO
|Reported by:||SF/jonner||Owned by:||sev-|
I'm not certain if this is the best place to submit this. I have written a rough HOWTO for playing Mac CD-ROM games on Win32, since it requires a couple of different tools and several steps. People are always asking about this in the forums. I think it would be helpful if there were a link to my HOWTO from the FAQ or documentation. Even better would be for it to be incorporated into one of those.

I'm sorry that the page was gone. The server on which it was hosted died and some configuration was lost. Here is the document.

afaik ScummVM now supports native mac datafiles, so running rescumm isn't needed anymore. This reduces the howto merely to 'get hfvexplorer, copy game data to hd'

Certainly, there is now much less need to rescumm a Mac game, but some people may still want to compress the sound or something, so the HOWTO may still be useful to some.

Finally got some time to process it and put to http://www.scummvm.org/documentation.php?view=maccd-howto

Again, I'm not sure if this is the best place to discuss this, but it does relate to the HOWTO I submitted before. In the forums, someone was trying to use a Mac game on Windows and wasn't able to find the HFVExplorer installer. The HFVExplorer home and installer seem to have fallen off the web. It would probably be a good idea to mirror it on the ScummVM site and modify the HOWTO accordingly. I have the installer on my web server for now:

Hmm... Once we decided to consider this to be included to our site, the HOWTO is gone.
Jonathan, may we use information from your document on www.scummvm.org? If so, may you attach this file here?
