Description
This is the same patch that I attached to bug report #884171 ("DOTT: Transition effect glitch (regression?)"). I just wanted to make it more obvious that there is a possible fix for it.
The patch is more than a week old, but still applies cleanly.

Unfortunately, I've since found out that this patch causes at least two regressions. See bug #893500, "FOA: Graphics glitch in balloon flight (regression)".
