The way I would use such a feature, as a player, would be that when an action sequence started I would use a hotkey to turn the grabbing on, and when the action sequence had finished I would release it. Of course, it could be made automatic, but if so I think it should be an option. I don't think we should force it onto the player. The actual grabbing is trivial to achieve with the SDL backend. In fact, it used to be a standard feature in the games Loki Software ported to Linux.
