Sam & Max "film noir" mode refinement

(I originally submitted this as a comment to a closed patch report. Perhaps I'm being too impatient when I now open a whole new patch for it.)
This is a slight refinement to the "film noir" patch I submitted. Basically, it gets rid of an unnecessary call to desaturatePalette(), and adds a bunch of comments describing the differences I've noticed between ScummVM's handling of film noir mode and the original interpreter's.
The patch is against a July 26 CVS snapshot, so it assumes that the original patch has already been applied.
