WINNT: Set default savegamepath to %AppData%\ScummVM

Description

I was always having trouble finding my savegames after I just carelessly started ScummVM without much thinking, saving a game and exiting.

If you don't set a savepath manually, there is just no way to know where, in which directory your savegames went. This is especially true, if you use ScummVM from CommandLine or use different versions.

But now my problem has become even bigger.

It is my duty to decide which AGI fangames are full games and which ones are not.

As you see, it is debateable, what defines "full game"

I came up with the idea, to define it by whether a game has savegamesupport or not.

But starting from the commandline, I just can't find my savegames.

So, may I suggest to set the scummvm.ini files location (%AppData%\ScummVM) also as default savegame directory?

Best regards

Joachim

Independant of the question of where the default savegame path should be located on Windows -- What is the problem with starting ScummVM into the launcher (from the commandline or whatever else you prefer), then going to the options dialog, and looking at the savepath settings there? Doesn't this work under Windows? If not (I have no idea, never used ScummVM under Windows), that would be a bug we ought to fix.

Just set the global save game path, if you don't want ScummVM placing saved games in the current directly. The global save game path will always be used, even if you start ScummVM via commmand line.

%AppData is only meant for programs specific files, like configuartion or temporary files used by a program. The recommnded location for user created data is the 'My Documents' directory, but most people don't like programs dumping all user created files into that single location.

It is simple to set the global saved game path under ScummVM and much better to have people set their own prefered location for saved games files under ScummVM.
