Description

Please can someone compile the application as Intel or Universal Binary for Mac OS X?

That would be great :-)

We do not have a suitable machine for that. Cross-compiling is too much effort considering the potential gain. So we'll have to wait until we find somebody with a suitable system to generated build for us.

For now, the PowerPC version should work just fine on your Intel Mac.

It is possible to build a Intel build or Universal Binary build one PowerPC machine. I would volunteer for testing, if that helps.

(I only know X-Code and a little Cocoa, else I would try help more.)

Yes. I know that a cross build is possible. However, it's not sufficient to just build ScummVM -- one also has to build intel versions of SDL, Vorbis, MAD, mpeg2dec, etc., and set them all up in a corresponding environment. That's certainly posible, but a lot of work to do properly -- and frankly, compared to the small gain it reaps at this point, I rather spend what little time I have for ScummVM on other, more important issues ...

It would be much much easier if somebody with an Intel Mac and the dev tools would install all the packages named above. It's a relatively simple thing, once you know what you have to do.

Intel snapshot is up, check the SVN section on the Downloads page. An Universal Binary should be up soon as well.
