Description
ScummVM version : 1.9.0git931-gb6a7d8c (Mar 3 2016 08:21:40)
I have recently purchased 4 programs from the Carol Reed series direct from MDNA Games and I have tried to run all of them under ScummVM. If you ignore multiple warnings and slow save times, I have completed program 8 (Amber's Blood) and expect to complete program 6 (Black Circle) and program 7 (Blue Madonna) soon. But program 5 (The Colour of Money) has defeated me as it always collapses during the opening titles with the error :
openDiskFile::Absolute path or invalid filename used in f:\dokument\spel 5\demo\data\scenes\credits\op_cred_00\op_cred_00.jpg!
Quite why it is looking for a file from the demo data, I do not know.
Of course, this error does not occur if you do not use ScummVM.

This should fix it: https://github.com/scummvm/scummvm/pull/695
Watch for that pull request's fate.
It appears to be a script bug that somehow the original executable turns a blind eye to; Mikael at MDNA was extremely supportive and helpful with this.
Have fun!
P.S.: You might have some font glitches with Carol Reed 5 from an unrelated bug under Linux. Please let us know if you do run into them under Windows as well. Thanks.

Many thanks to all who helped with this fix and I am now able to run the game with the latest daily Win 32 snapshot. I will test the x64 build when it comes through.
When I bought these games, I had no idea whether they would run under Windows (probably) and then with ScummVM (no idea). If I succeed with this, it is my intention to try and run them again (after a break!) on my Linux and Android versions of ScummVM.
As I played them only to see if I could run them to the end of their game, I paid very little attention to the copious messages but they mainly seemed to consist of the two following warnings :
WARNING: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile! (This occurred regularly)
WARNING: c:\windows\fonts\framd.ttf has no replacement font yet, using FreeSans for now (if available)! (This occurred every time I reloaded a savegame. If it helps, I can't see anything called FreeSans in my font folder)
I think these warnings have appeared for all the games I have bought. I have kept savegames in case they are required later.
I can submit bug reports for these warnings but it appeared to me that there was little Wintermute development work going on at the moment. So I was more than surprised to get such a quick response!
P.S. I have also now completed Carol Reed 7 (Blue Madonna) on the x64 build.

A fix has just been submitted, could you retest and verify with a nightly build from say tomorrow or later?

I have played The Colour Of Murder again from the start up to Iris' apartment. The game appeared to run normally but I am attaching the log so you can see what ScummVM is making of it.
Just need to get over bug #7068 then I should be able to say I have got to the end of Carol Reed 5,6,7 and 8. Then I will worry about the warnings from the other 3 games I have completed.

BTW The demo version of The Colour of Murder does work under ScummVM. (Sorry I got the program name wrong in the first post)
