Description
ScummVM 1.8.0pre137-g147ade4 (Feb 19 2016 14:31:51) English DOS v2.1 original AGI interpreter: 2.411 Linux amd64 gcc 5.3.0
The bell sound at the monastery sounds much lower pitch. Additionally it sounds like there's continous crackling present in ScummVM. That does not happen for me in DOSBox.
Attached a ScummVM save standing in the screen with the bell.

I've confirmed that this is still a bug, at least when using the PC Speaker emulator. I can't speak to the accuracy of the sound in 4-channel PC Jr mode, but it doesn't have the juttering sound that the occurs in PC Speaker mode.
If this turns out to be a difficult thing to fix in the AGI audio code, another option would be to use Common::PCSpeaker
when not in 4-channel mode. That's what I did for the Apple II and CoCo3 AGI sound generators, and I think it sounds great. Although I'm not sure what to make of so many engines implementing their own speaker emulators. One claims theirs is more accurate than Common::PCSpeaker
, but that seems strange to say that without improving the common one?
Attached save from original interpreter made with DOSBox.
