Yes, this is a known issue. Speech synthesis is not implemented.

As this is a known unimplemented feature of the engine, I'm not sure that this should be an open bug as it is known, noted and will not be implemented quickly. Probably should be closed with status of later.

Strangerke: Any Point Of View on this?

Note that the Speech Synthesis implemented leverages the capabilities of the system on which ScummVM is running and is not available on all platforms. The Speech Synthesis from the original game is still not implemented (and probably never will).
