#6395 new defect

TINSEL: DW - PSX version glitched at "Eyed of Offla"

Reported by: raziel- Owned by:
Priority: normal Component: Engine: Tinsel

Game: Discworld

Description

ScummVM 1.7.0git (Aug 25 2013 09:20:10)
Features compiled in: Vorbis FLAC MP3 RGB zLib MPEG2 Theora AAC FreeType2

At the "Eye of Offla" location there is some kind of maze beforehand which ego can only cross blindfolding him and letting him guide by luggage.
Everything works at this scene apart form the "darkening" of the whole scene when the action takes place.
Normally there should be a complete black scene with only the action verbs popping up from the darkness, but there isn't, the light stays on all the time.
What it makes it look buggy is that no ego or luggage is displayed in the lit scene, only the action verbs pop up until the scene switches to the "Eye of Offla" resting place.

This is no bug from the original, playing it on a PSX makes the scene darken.

Savegame will hopefull follow

A little bit has changed since the original report:

With the version above Rincewind and Luggage aren't removed from the scene anymore, rather when Rincewind puts on the blindfold his sprite shortly vanishes (probably when the pitch black scene triggers -> it sills stays lit, though) but returns to his idle animation again, while the scene stays completely lit and still only the action verbs pop up.
Once this (pitch black) scripted event finishes, Rincewind is once again shortly erased from the scene only to reappear again to perform his scripted animations.
Luggage is visible all the time.
