Playbook: <ENTER> Not working On Virtual Keyboard In SCI KQ4

Reported by: SF/psx10k Owned by: lordhoto
Priority: normal Component: Engine: SCI
Version: Keywords:
Cc: Game: King's Quest 4

Description

Platform: Playbook Version: 1_4_1_34 Language: English Game: King's Quest 4 (SCI) Issue: When using ScummVM for Playbook, King's Quest 4 SCI loads fine, and presents the copy protection question pop-up fine. The virtual keyboard can be brought up by swiping from the lower left corner to the center. The keys enter fine, but pressing <ENTER> on the virtual keyboard does not seem to submit the values typed in. As well, there was one instance experienced where pressing <SPACE> or <ENTER> would enter some random character in the input stream.

The keyboard used is the default settings for the playbook. Turning off auto-correction and other enhanced keyboard settings has no effect.

I do not know if this is a wide-spread problem in other keyboard input games, but <ENTER> does work in Kq3, but <SPACE> does not (see other issue filed). It is possible it is a general virtual keyboard issue with the Playbook ScummVM.

The Playbook port is no official port of ScummVM (yet). We can't fix any bugs for it and furthermore it was not developed by an active ScummVM developer. Thus reporting bugs for it on here will not help at all, I'm afraid.
