LB1: Game play freezes when taking shower

Reported by: SF/envisaged0ne Owned by: bluegr
Priority: normal Component: Engine: SCI
Version: Keywords:
Cc: Game: Laura Bow 1: The Colonel's Bequest

Description

When going into the upstairs bathroom and typing "take shower", you're supposed to get into the shower. Then a dark man opens the door, walks over and stabs you to death. Thus resulting in making you restart, restore or quit the game. However, when playing the game through ScummVM (played through revision 54565), when you get into the shower, the door will open, then nothing else happens after that. The game doesn't completely freeze, but the further sequence of the man walking up and stabbing you never happens. Thus you will just watch Laura Bow taking a shower forever.

Language: English Version of game: DOS/English Platform: Win32

Okie, attached a file where you're in the bathroom. From there, just type "take shower", once she gets into the shower, the door will open, then nothing happens after that.

This is room 215

The killer is getting stuck behind the door, which is why the scene never progresses. He's initially at x = 0, if you move him to x = 6 or greater, he walks (i.e. "send killer x 6"), and the scene progresses normally. Seems like some sort of collision/pathfinding problem

Fixed (with a hack) in r55251, a regression from the new Bresenham functions, (enabled in r52467) - many thanks to waltervn for his work in bisecting this.
