When visiting the docks, if you hail a cab before entering in conversation with Steve, the game reaches a standstill where the cab never gets to park and Steve never fully leaves. The game does not crash however. You can reproduce it with the savegame below.

After bug 3036291 being fixed, I can now confirm that this bug is more severe. Basically if you enter the docks, you get stuck: Laura hails the cab but never enters it.

sorry, I won't.

Can't really proceed with the playthrough with this bug in place. Should I report the game as non completable in the forum?

I don't know the first thing about programming so I apologize if this completely silly, however: I noticed that if Laura hails the cab before she finishes the conversation with Steve, the character animation shows him leaving but he never does, the character just stops there waiting in it's last animation frame before disappearing, just like Laura's character stops waiting by the cab never entering it. Now this got me thinking that the bug might lie in one of the animations, either Laura's walk to the cab, Steve's walk away or one of the innumerable random background animations showing people far away in the docks. Does this help or even make any sense?

Unfortunately the bug is still there as of build 51672.

I deleted the previous savegame and attached 2 new savegames, one for the CD version and another for the Floppy version. They're made from freshly started games , minimal interaction, just traveled to the problematic area. See if you can load those up. You just have to click the taxi sign for the problem (game standstill) to manifest.

Keeping my fingers crossed. Best of luck.

Replicated this with r51748 i.e. HEAD on Linux x86_32. Definately a blocker to game completion.

This is Room 240 and only Scripts 0 and 994 are executing.
