I need to corner it a little

It is not possible to load games from the launcher as the game always starts with the intro screens eventually leading to the in-game load/save "book"-dialog.
Loading from that "book" now works again (maybe r48422) without crashing

Fixed in ScummVM SVN (branch and trunk), By removing the kSupportsLoadingDuringStartup MetaEngineFeature flag.

The Parallaction game engine never offered support for loading saved games via the launcher.
