KQ4 AGI not recognized

Reported by: SF/cerebus1 Owned by: sev-
Priority: normal Component: Engine: AGI
Version: Keywords: detection
Cc: Game: King's Quest 4

Description

Hi, I just won a copy of the AGI version of King's Quest 4 off ebay, and yes, this is the original game on floppy disks (it came with 5.25" and 3.5"). I copied the files from the 3.5" floppy disks. The newest stable version of ScummVM is recognizing it as a Fanmade AGI game rather than King's Quest 4. If I try to run the game, it gets stuck after the credits and I have to open the task manager to close program. I am running ScummVM on my PC and the game disks say Version #2.3 (the language is English). The window that opens with ScummVM asks that I report the following data to the ScummVM team: "kq4dir", "82a0d39af891042e99ac1bd6e0b29046", 2786 "object", "99586cbcea06eec3c8c8944ac5c4c46c", 713

With ScummVM 1.0.0, it does not get stuck. Now it seems to start ok, but it is still recognized as a Fanmade AGI.

Could you please press Alt+D ingame and provide me with printed out version and also provide the file date.

Also it wouldn't hurt to provide md5s for the 5.25" version, so I could understand the interpreter version.

I hit Alt+D and got this: King's Quest IV Ver 2.3 9/27/88 Copyright Sierra On-Line

Then: AGI engine v1.0.0 Emulating AGI v3.002.149

I'm not sure if that is what you are asking for. That looks like the file date, but I'm not sure what you mean by a printed out version. I would give you the md5s for the 5.25" disks, but I no longer have a working 5.25" floppy disk drive.

Thanks. That is exactly what I needed. We had only 5.25" checksum. I added your 3.5" checksum. Please test it in tomorrow's daily build.
