ITE: Classic Mac voices not detected

Reported by: SF/fancia Owned by: bluegr
Priority: normal Component: Engine: SAGA
Version: Keywords: detection
Cc: Game: Inherit the Earth

Description

Summary: The voice file from my classic Mac version of Inherit the Earth is not detected. I seem to have an alternate version of the game.

I own an original copy of the classic Mac version of Inherit the Earth. Using Windows hfvexplorer, I copied all of the files into MacBinary format and set them up in ScummVM. The files are all recognized by ScummVM and I can launch the game, but the voices aren't played; the console tells me WARNING: No voice file found, voices will be disabled!

When I was checking my md5sums, using the first 5000 bytes as directed by the wiki, it appears that I have an alternate version of the game. None of my md5sums match up with the ones currently recognized by ScummVM, although the rest of the datafiles are detected properly. Here are the md5sums from my copy:

ITE Music.bin - c1d20324b7cdf1650e67061b8a93251c ITE Resources.bin - 0bd506aa887bfc7965f695c6bd28237d ITE Scripts.bin - af0d7a2588e09ad3ecbc5b474ea238bf ITE Sounds.bin - 441426c6bb2a517f65c7e49b57f7a345 ITE Voices.bin - dba92ae7d57e942250fe135609708369

After taking a look in the source for the SAGA detection tables, it looks like these actually are the recognized md5sums - for the voice files as well as all the rest. I'm not sure why the voices aren't being detected in this case.

For reference, I've tested this in the Mac OS X, Windows and Nintendo DS versions.
