FREDDI2: Freezing

Reported by: SF/bernstein229 Owned by:
Priority: normal Component: Engine: SCUMM
Version: Keywords:
Cc: Game: Freddi Fish 2

Description

When I'm playing Freddi Fish 2, it freezes at random. Most of the time its when an action is going to happen, like collecting an item, or beginning a cut scene. I am running the latest SVN version, using the Macintosh version of the game, on the Mac OS X port of scummvm.

Ticket imported from: #2028894. Ticket imported from: bugs/3833.

Are you playing the game directly from the CD, or did you copy the data files to the hard disk?

comment:4 by SF/bernstein229, 16 years ago

I played it from the disc.

Could you please try copying the data files to your hard disk, and see if this problem still occurs. As I suspect the freezing could be related to delays, when reading various data from the CD.

The original versions of these games used a resource caching system, to handle playing directly from CD, which doesn't exist in ScummVM.
