WOODRUFF: Wrong code for safe in temple

Reported by: SF/vradderkins Owned by: DrMcCoy
Priority: low Component: Engine: Gob
Version: Keywords: original
Cc: Game: Woodruff

Description

ScummVM 0.12.0svn (Jun 18 2008 09:13:53)

This is a bug which occurs in the original version. (I don't know if it only occurs in the German version...but anyway.)

You're being told ingame that the code for the safe in the temple is "GLAP GNEE POO ZIG" but they changed it to "GLAP POO GNEE ZIG"...and you can only know that if you have a look into the manual.

I don't know if this is a real bug or just a copy-protect measure...but if it's a bug...you could fix it. ;D

Is it only wrong when you're told, or is it also wrong in the list in your Tobozon (the phone thingy)? I never really listen to the code when it's spoken out anyway, and at least in the English version, the code as written in the Tobozon list is the correct one.

It's typed wrong in the Tobozon list as well as spoken wrong. So it would make more sense to change the code of the safe.

Unfortunately, that's not really possible without major headaches, because that's, like quite a lot, completely handled by the scripts.

comment:6 by SF/vradderkins, 16 years ago

That obviously means that you got no real chance of editing those scripts...

comment:7 by DrMcCoy, 16 years ago

Editing the scripts is completely out of the questions, as they are in the game data the users provide. The only thing I can is manipulate the "interface" to the scripts, i.e. tricking the scripts into thinking the user pressed something they didn't and stuff like that. The problem there is finding a place where to do it so it works for every game version (so no checking for direct script offsets), but doesn't break anything else.
