#3465 closed defect (invalid)

WINCE: FEEBLE: Game not starting

Reported by: spookypeanut Owned by: SF/knakos
Priority: normal Component: Port: WinCE
Keywords: Cc:
Game: The Feeble Files

Description

When trying to start Feeble Files (English, 2CD) on my PocketLOOX N560 (now I have enough space on my memory card ;-), it pauses, then bails to the debug window, stating:

ERROR: loadVGAVideoFile: Read failed

The same game on Linux, run from the same card, runs fine (at least up until the intro, as far as i tested it).

stderr states:
SDL: GAPI_WinPAINT NOT IMPLEMENTED
loadVGAVideoFile: Read failed!

stdout says nothing of interest (imho, let me know if you want a look anyway).

Tested on 0.10.0 and svn, result identical.

Are you able to play any other games with ScummVM?

Yup, every other game I've tried with several engines has worked no problem. I'm pretty sure that simon, the only other agos game i own, worked too, but I'll double check this evening.

feeble is untested (by me) on wince. it is a little weird to have it since it needs so much space. but anyway, I'll take a look and notify you here.

What is the status of this item?

comment:6 Changed 11 years ago by SF/knakos

still untested; will probably check & fix before release (feeble is a nuissance to setup).

feeble runs fine over here but requires a *lot* of memory. try building release with only the agos engine in (and stripping the executable).
