simon1dos doesn\'t work

Description
Bought Simon1 german version recently. Both dos and windows version is on the CD (both talkie). The windows version works great. The dos version doesn't work at all. Latest ScummVM daily build, win32:
Detected game 'Simon the Sorcerer 1 for DOS', version 99.99.99 Error: Unable to locate opcode table. Perhaps you are using the wrong game target?!

No, I've really only copied the DOS files (were even located in a folder named "DOS"), which are:
effects.voc gamepc icon.dat mt_fm.ibk runvga.exe setd.snd setup.exe simon.gme simon.voc stripped.txt tbllist
If I execute the installer, it adds a bunch of sound drivers and the like, but that didn't make a difference for ScummVM.
Please tell me, if you need more details.
For me this isn't too important, because the Windows version runs just fine. But I'm very well willing to help, in case you're interested in finding the problem.

I noticed the same problem, as well as the "german umlauts" bug you reported. Probably we've both got the same version of Simon (mine came bundled with Simon2, which I bought a few years ago).

Strange thing. I tried simon1win on the DOS folder and it worked! However, it's definately the DOS version in the DOS folder. Well, I guess, it's a kind of hybrid version...
So I think we can close this one. Sorry for not trying simon1win earlier.

That message basically means that the file is formatted like the Windows version. Maybe it's trying to read the windows files and not the dos files?
You can't have both in the same directory...
