GOB2: Game crashes after beanstalk sequence

I'm playing Gobliins 2. The CD Version released in Germany under the label "Sierra Originals".
When I climb down the beanstalk after rescuing buffon a small story sequence plays. After that sequence scummvm crashes:
scummvm: engines/gob/scenery.cpp:778: Gob::Scenery::AnimLayer* Gob::Scenery::getAnimLayer(uint16, uint16): Assertion `layer < _animations[index].layersCount' failed.
Abgebrochen (core dumped)
I attached a savegame right before the crash happens - just have the goblin climb down the plant...
I'm using linux and scummvm version:
ScummVM 0.10.0svn (Apr 5 2007 09:47:36)
Features compiled in: Vorbis FLAC MP3 ALSA zLib MPEG2 FluidSynth
I don't know if this used to work - haven't played that far with scummvm before...
