Description

Simon the Sorcerrer 2, Windows CD version, Czech
translation (already translated, get it on a CD with a
magazine)

Trying to start game 'Simon the Sorcerer 2' MD5s of
your game version are unknown. Please, report

I added the game details to ScummVM SVN, try the next
snapshot of ScummVM SVN.

In particular check if the characters of items names are
correct, as the font table could be different.

Texts are ok. National characters displays correct
(narrator, dialogues) , but not everywhere. The only
problem is the small red font in choosing answer screens
(texts showed bellow, lines 1, 2, 3...) and labels (in the
same font) displayed when exploring the area.
That was on the default setting. When I switch the language
to Czech, after the intro when i move the mouse on some
object an error appears... ERROR: windowDrawChar: Unknown
language 14

Please attach the Run95.exe file, so I can extract the font
table used by the Czech version.

Thanks, I added the Czech font table from the Run95.exe file. Try the next snapshot of ScummVM SVN, making sure
the language is set to 'Czech' for the game.

Thank you. Now all characters display correct. I have tried only talking to few
characters but all is fine. The only bug is "fusion" in some words (it have been
everytime the answer was more than one line long... "!!!" is added). You can see it on
the screenshot.

There have been no related code changes, so the problem would still occur.

To rephrase what moneytoo said (and what I didn't understand properly before looking at the screenshots):

The problem appears in conversations between Simon and other character. Whenever there is a two-line answer (in SCUMM terms, I'd call them "verbs"), for some odd reason "!!!" is printed atop the second line. Always with the precise same horizontal offset, too. Or at least something that looks like "!!!".

The big question is, where are these letters coming from, and what is responsible for printing them.

It's of course a bit difficult to properly debug this w/o access to the czech version. Like, it would be good to find out where the "!!!" is coming from, precisely. But maybe somebody who knows more about the AGOS conversation system can figure this out anyway.

Could you please try the dump all subroutines option, in the next snapshot of ScummVM SVN, and attach a file of the output.

Start ScummVM via command line, with output redirected to a file. ie:
scummvm simon2 > simon2cz.txt

Wait for the game to be displayed.
Press 'CTRL u' to dump all subroutines.
Wait a minute or two for output to complete.
Quit ScummVM.

Then just attached the file 'simon2cz.txt', to this bug report.
