#2859 closed defect (fixed)

WEB: Tentacle wrong on compatibility details page (Safari)

Reported by: fingolfin Owned by: sev-
Priority: low Component: Web
Keywords: Cc:

Look at e.g. <
details=sword1> with Apple's Safari (maybe also in Konquerer). The
tentacle in the lower right corern will be broken in the middle. It works in
FireFox 1.5.

Background: The tentacle consists of three images, which are all of
different width, and which are not even aligned on any side. Hence the
HTML code of out site has to do all kinds of fiddling to get the three parts
to align properly. The end result is rather fragile (and hard to look at,
codewise, too <sigh>).

I guess what I am really asking for here is a rewrite of the site using CSS
*g*. In the meantime, I don't want to again forget about this particular

There was a WIP of CSS rewrite by some french guy. Didn't
hear from him for a while.

In Konqueror (3.5.5, with whatever changes Debian may have
done to it), the two halves of the tentacle connect, but the
lower half is too far to the right. I don't know if that's
what you mean.
