#26 closed defect (fixed)

can't save while talking in indy

Reported by: (none) Owned by: SF/strigeus
Priority: normal Component: Engine: SCUMM
Version: Keywords:
Cc: Game: Indiana Jones 4

Description

If I have a conversation going in Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, and the game is waiting for me to say something, trying to save will render all my responses invisible, and the cursor disappears. The background continues to move, but I am unable to do anything, including loading or saving. Restarting scummvm and trying to load the saved game leaves me in exact same state. I don't get any error messages on the console.

I had already experienced that thing. But it doesn't always happens. Unfortunately, I can't give my savegame to Strigeus (I have the italian version of the game). It would be good if you could post a savegame of a moment before that problem occurs (In Barnett college, for example, while you are talking with Sophia and choosing your path)

Well, here are two save-games, one right before, and one when it's locked up. If you start from the one right before, simply open the door in the background, wait for Biff to stop speaking, and press Shift-1 to lock up the game.

Do you use the latest CVS version? It works as it's supposed to work for me. (I'm testing with the lady right inside the door after you knock the guard).

I noticed however, if I press the U button, I get something similar to what you describe.

This doesn't seem to be related to saving/loading.

Just pressing the 1 button will make the game "freeze".

Uhm... in the original game, you could use numeric keys to choose the sentence to say, so....
