SIMON1TALKIE: What the VOC?

Description
At specific locations in my Simon the Sorcerer game, like 'dwarfs cave' or 'rock' the system jarrs up and then crahes with this note:
Warning: Invalid code in VOC file: 139! Warning: Invalid code in VOC file: 64! Warning: LoadVOCFromStream: Invalid Header! rate effect can only handle rates <65536
It then gives me options to 'quit' or 'exit' no matter what i do, i crashes. It does not happen in othe places, in fact it runs fabulously. I realise this might be out of the game's control, but i'm looking for suggestions, so i can at least get on with it.

Sounds like your speech file (SIMON.VOC) is corrupt. I would suggest copying the file from the CD again.
If you are using the English version, these are the correct file size and md5 details: 170,329,792 SIMON.VOC 71118F85748D3654406605F3B624FD74 SIMON.VOC

What if i'm running the game from the original CD? I can't copy the file again, and the file size is fine.

Then I would suggest copying the data files to your hard disk and try playing the game from there.

I'm sorry i'm not making myself very clear. The game is not recognised from my hard disc, i can only initiate a game from the CD itself. Thanks anyway.

Make sure you copy all required data files from the CD, a list of required data files can be found at http://scummvm.sourceforge.net/documentation.php? view=datafiles
