SCUMM: Can't save.

I am not able to save my game within ANY of the SCUMM- supported games I have.

As well, whenever I try to view a close-up screen (i.e. generator blueprints in tentacle or newspaper in atlantis), the game freezes, with the error message (example from atlantis):

"failed to save game state to file: atlantis.c99"

followed by

"failed to load game state from file: atlantis.c99"

After this, the game locks up, and I have to Window-D my way out.

I am using Windows XP Home.

That usually means that the "Save Path" setting (see the Options dialog, under Paths) isn't pointing to a writeable folder.

(There was a bug once that made it seem as if the save path was correctly set, even though it wasn't, but that was a long time ago. ScummVM 0.6.1, maybe?)

Indeed, sounds like your savepath is either non-existent or missing. Set a new one in the GUI and you should be done.

To process your bug report appropriately, we need you to provide the following additional information:

* ScummVM version (PLEASE test the latest CVS/Daily build) * Bug details, including instructions on reproducing it * Language of game (English, German, ...) * Version of game (talkie, floppy, ...) * Platform and Compiler (Win32, Linux, MacOS, ...) * Attach a save game if possible * If this bug only occurred recently, please note the last version without the bug, and the first version including the bug. That way we can fix it quicker by looking at the changes made.

This should only take you a little time but will make it much easier for us to process your bug report in a way that satisfies both you and us.
