Description
The Sam & Max demo (see feature request demo url for url to zipfile) fails to startup:
$ ~/scummvm-20011107_unstripped SNMDEMO Failed game detection 1 1, 2 2, 4 4 4, 20 38 28 88 12056 Error(0:0:0x0): Cannot find 'SNMDEMO.000'! Press a key to quit.
this is because this demo has a SNMDEMO.SM0 and SNMDEMO.SM1 file instead of .000 and .001 files

yes, but I got the following error:

Did you try renaming the files in question to a .000 and .001 extension respectively?
