COMI: Changing Discs Doesn't Work

Description
After doing the final thing you need to get off Plunder Island, the Sea Cucumber sails out of port. ScummVM 0.8.0 asks for Disc2. I put it in, mount it. Guybrush talks, talks to his crew, and the gold chapter screen comes up, and after that, it cannot find COMI.LA1 on Disc2, so it asks for Disc1. So I insert Disc1. Haggis says: Aye, the sea. The subtitles come on, even though they weren't enabled. Then after that, it asks for Disc2 again. If you continue this, after a while you see Captain Rottingham's ship chasing Threepwood, but the sea looks horrible... and it asks you for Disc1 again.

Yes, nothing we can do with it now. The game requires some data to be present all the time, so best would be to copy contents of both CDs to your hard drive.
according to http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/scummvm/scummvm/README?rev=HEAD section 5.6 and 5.6.1 it is recommended to copy multi-disk games to hd
