#2251 closed defect

BS1: crashes when entering "chess puzzle"

Reported by: SF/habaskeba Owned by:
Priority: normal Component: Engine: Sword1
Version: Keywords:
Cc: Game: Broken Sword 1

Description

And gives an error message: Fatal signal: Segmentation Fault (SDL Parachute Deployed)

I've tried with boot parameter "-b 62" (which should go to that chess puzzle) and it doesn't work either... neither does "-b 61". Parameters 60 and 63 work fine.

My SPAIN.CLU file MD5 checksum is 30d8b84e9ccebc1087c499bdd339ce62 if that could be the thing to blame?

Ticket imported from: #1325366. Ticket imported from: bugs/2251.

SAVEGAME.009 (883 bytes ) - added by SF/habaskeba 19 years ago.
Savegame: Talk to the old woman about the chess pieces and then after some storyline about the Templar Knights. Some more dialog and then it should go to the Chess Puzzle (I think).

I just played through the chess puzzle using that savegame, without any crashes.

The MD5 sum of my SPAIN.CLU is e053954d122ecbce89a58030fbcd1e40 and comes from the English "Sold-Out Software" release.

To process your bug report appropriately, we need you to provide the following additional information:

* ScummVM version (PLEASE test the latest CVS/Daily build) * Bug details, including instructions on reproducing it * Language of game (English, German, ...) * Version of game (talkie, floppy, ...) * Platform and Compiler (Win32, Linux, MacOS, ...) * Attach a save game if possible * If this bug only occurred recently, please note the last version without the bug, and the first version including the bug. That way we can fix it quicker by looking at the changes made.

This should only take you a little time but will make it much easier for us to process your bug report in a way that satisfies both you and us.

Thank you for your support!

My spain.clu has the same md5 as yours, but I don't get a crash when going to the chess puzzle from your savegame. -b 62 works without a crash as well.

(gentoo linux, scummvm CVS from 15 oct.)

Right..

I've now tested Windows (WIN32) versions of both v0.7.1 and the daily build (last update: October 16, 2005, 3:01 am) with same results...

The game is a English 2CD talkie version (winsword.exe compiled 25. october 1996, 19:49:00)
