SIMON2: obscure crash
|Reported by:||SF/fydo||Owned by:||Kirben|
|Cc:||Game:||Simon the Sorcerer 2|
Hi there, using SCUMMVM for windows version 0.7.1, I was playing Simon2talkie and I experienced a (seemingly) random crash. Unfortunately I hadn't saved in a while so I don't have a save game to provide you. I was using voices + text.
I had just finished talking to the tatoo artist, and ended up not getting a tatoo (it was too expensive), so I picked up the tatoo brochure. I then left and went to MacSwamplings. In the entrance (parking lot?) of MacSwampings, I LOOKed at the brochure now in my inventory, and after Simon read the first line, the text wasn't updating anymore but Simon kept on talking. After he was done, the text stayed there, and background music still played, but the mouse was unresponsive. I ended up having to shut down the process and load up scumm from an older save game.
Just letting you know. Also, thanks for an awesome way to play my old favorite games. I love scummvm!

The problem will sometimes occur when looking at the Leaflet while the Swampling Mascot is currently talking. Unfortunately the bug occurs in the original games too, so I doubt we can do anything about it. It is a nasty bug though, since it causes ScummVM to completely lock up.

May you, please, describe this bug on Wiki (maybe we will need to creat list of original game bugs)? Closing it then.
