BS1: Portugese version crashes

Reported by: SF/hdktriton Owned by: lavosspawn
Priority: normal Component: Engine: Sword1
Version: Keywords:
Cc: Game: Broken Sword 1

Description

Whenever I try to play BS1 in my sistem it crashes when Georges stands up after the explosion.

Now I figured out why... my version is portuguese and I chose it in the language list in ScummVM. I changed it to English and it works like a charm, but I would like to play it with Portuguese subtitles, so localized version of BS1 don't work.

Forum items can be deleted, so here's a quote:

"BTW, I am currently in Windows XP Home Edition, Catalyst 4.12, Radeon Mobility 9700 and ScummVM 0.70."

So if you turn off subtitles and set the language back to portuguese, does it still crash? (Just trying to isolate where the crash happens. I don't know enough about it to fix it.)

Hi, today I researched the problem more.

If I choose Display Subtitles and Portuguese Language it crashes, but I can see the menu in portuguese but whenever I try to click a icon in the game to make an action, it crashes so I suppose it should be a problem with the subtitles.

If I chose English it works, with subtitles..

Sorry for my bad english, but I'm only 15 years old. :)

Hi, you wrote: "If I choose Display Subtitles and Portuguese Language it crashes"

Didn't you mean to say the opposite, i.e.: "If I choose Display Subtitles and Portuguese Language it *does not* crash anymore" ?

Or did you mean to say: "It always crashes, even when I disable subtitles" ?
