Priority: normal Component: Port: Android
Version: Keywords: Android crash Riddle of Mast Lu

Description

Test on two devices using the ARM64v8a APK. I can successfully add them game to the ScummVM Launcher, but when selecting the game to play, it simply crashes/closes ScummVM.

The same files work on the Windows 64bit installation.

Hello!

Could you also test with a recent daily dev build (ScummVM 2026.3.1git) for Android?

Does this issue occur there too?

I'll test with the Daily build and report back.

I've done additional testing and found that the 2026.3.0 ARMv7 builds do work correctly. It's only on the ARMv8 build that it doesn't work. Tested the ARMv7 build on a device running Android 4.3 and one with 4.4, both worked great.

The ARMv8 build that did not work was test on Android 13 and 14 devices.

I should note that I *have* tested with the stable 2026.3.0 and a daily dev build for arm64-v8a on Android 17.

On the stable the game crashes at launch, but on the daily dev it lauches without issues.

Since I've had a similar (but not quite the same) issue on Windows 10 x64 with another M4 game (Orion Burger), I think that maybe a recent commit on the engine fixed these issues. Though, it's not clear to me which commit did it.

Anyway, keeping the ticket open until additional feedback/confirmation about the resolution of the issue.

After testing with the September 1st 2026 daily ARMv8 build, I can confirm that the game does infact work.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
