AGS: The Apprentice Deluxe. Movement stops responding

Hello all

Was playing through an older AGS game called The Apprentice Deluxe ​https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/play/game/570/. Game appears to work fine, but after clearing "saddle puzzle" the movement action stops responding.

You can use actions such as "take" or "talk", but the character sprite will stop moving locking the game out. I am attaching a save file with the broken condition.

To see this error in action (somewhat spoilery):

• Go downstairs
• USE master's door;
• Hide on the right side of the screen, when you're in shadow;
• When the master comes out, go upstairs;
• USE the chute;
• TAKE the broom;
• Go outside;
• Enter barn;
• TAKE stool;
• USE stool on saddle;
• USE broom on saddle.

This was tested both on Linux Mint Debian Edition, and on a Linux Handheld running MUOS (same SCUMMVM version, as far as i am aware):
