#16098 closed defect (fixed)

M4: RIDDLE: Unstable behavior on bridge in Master Lu’s tomb (crash, soft skip)

Reported by: afreickmann Owned by: Strangerke <arnaud.boutonne@…>
Priority: low Component: Engine: M4
Version: Keywords:
Cc: Game: Riddle of Master Lu

Description

What happens:
The bridge trap sequence in Master Lu’s tomb shows unreliable behavior under certain conditions, when Mei is already on the other side and Ripley tries to follow.

Observed issues:
Crash:
If done in a longer sequence like coming from the room before and get Mei placed, the game crashed entirely when Ripley tried to cross the bridge during the death scene.

Trap broken / task skipped:
If loaded directly, Ripley dies as expected when crossing the bridge. But after restart the trap stopped working entirely. Ripley could cross the bridge freely, effectively skipping the trap puzzle.

Expected behavior:
If Ripley tries to cross the bridge without disabling the trap, it should always result in a death scene.

In df2471db:

M4: RIDDLE: Workaroud for issue fix #16098 - Autosave has bad coordinates which makes it unusable

The workaround has been added as usually the autosave is made before the move, like it's now the case
