ScummVM: 2.10 development daily (April 16, 2025) on Windows 11
Strangeland: Steam

I am unable to name save games. Keyboard input appears to be ignored while in the save game dialogue box.

This is still broken with git HEAD (f0f7f104de1412a9 as of this writing)

This is actually a game breaking problem, as late in-game you need to enter text via the keyboard in order to proceed.

Savegame attached. Click on the register, click on the pen, cursor changes to keyboard, but no input is recognized. Or you can just try to save the game as the original report states.

Could be related (don't have this game, so I can't test this):
https://bugs.scummvm.org/ticket/16185 (this is fixed in AGS 3.6.3 Beta)


What you can do:

ScummVM uses the same compatibility layer as the original AGS, and most of the problems are the same there as in ScummVM. Try running the game with the latest AGS version and play up to that point to see if the issue also occurs there. If it does, please report it directly to the AGS developers:

If it is fixed in AGS, it will also be fixed in ScummVM when they update to the newest AGS version.

I tried the suggestion by Max833, but was met with Illegal Exception crashes when trying to load an old save, or start a new game. I used AGS 3.6.3Beta1.

Could you please report this in detail here (what kind of exception etc.): https://github.com/adventuregamestudio/ags/issues

This is also important for future ScummVM AGS updates.

There is a good chance this is fixed together with: https://bugs.scummvm.org/ticket/16185

There was an keyboard issue. See: https://github.com/adventuregamestudio/ags/issues/2847

If so, this is fixed when ScummVM updates to v3.6.3.
