Description
In the first town, the quest is to find a missing object for the hermit. You find out that some woman found the object and left it in her mother's home. Upon entering this home, the doll is visible but walking on it does not trigger any picking up, it stays on the floor and you can walk over it. This item is necessary to unlock the hermit quest and to continue playing the game.

Is there any special circumstances for you encountering the bug? For example, did you play all the way from the beginning to that point in one session? Also, if you could attach a copy of a savegame as well, I can check to see if it exhibits any issues on my end.

I've just attached the savegame with this issue. "got.001"

I don't quite remember to be honest, but I'm pretty sure I saved the game a few times before getting to that point. I'll try to start a new game and check it out.
Also, I tried to load your savegame and I was able to pick up the doll and I got the appropriate message as well.
Edit: I just started a new playthrough and this time I was able to pick the Doll. I did not however talk to the woman that stole the doll before talking to the hermit. I wonder if this was the cause. I'll try to start a new playthrough to check that out.
Edit2: I've done a new playthrough. I talked to the woman that stole the Doll first then talked to the Hermit , talked to the woman another time and picking up the Doll worked again. I'm not sure what happened in my first playthrough. Do note that my first playthrough was totally blind, I didn't use a walkthrough so I pretty much explored all I could, all the houses, talked to all NPCs as I was trying to figure out what to do.

That was helpful, thanks. I was able to find one possible cause - when you return from in-game to the opening screen, it doesn't properly reset all the game flags. This may be why your game ended up in an invalid state. And saving the game simply perpetuated the issue. I'll look into add extra resets to fix the problem.

Wow. The problem was even worse then that.. only the first 8 flags out of 64 were getting properly copied for restoration when Thor dies and is resurrected. So it could have been leading to all sorts of issues. I'm going to mark this bug as closed for now. Hopefully it won't crop up again for any further new play throughs.

PS: I should have been explicit above. I pushed a fix for that and also properly resetting the flags. In fact, previously, if you returned to the title screen and started a new game for the same game part, it wouldn't reset anything.. you'd start the new game at the same screen you were previously at. So this report helped identify multiple issues.

I just tried to load a game and then decided to start a game anew in the same chapter and my points were not reset. Also all the points treasures and I guess all the objects were not reset either. Should I create a new ticket for this?
Edit: I tried it again and actually the points are reset to 0 but the objects that we can pickup are no longer present. Also, are killing the monsters supposed to give ~150 points each?
With the new fixes, now the hammer does a lot more damage (about twice as much) and the damage we get from hits is a lot less too. Does it mean I actually played the most difficult version of this game in my first playthrough of chapter 2? XD

This is strange. I've attached a savegame I made from in the house, and on my Windows system, the pick up dialog is correctly triggered when I walk into the doll.
