PALM: General UI problems

Reported by: SF/p_tran Owned by: SF/chrilith
Priority: low Component: Port: PalmOS
Version: Keywords:
Cc: Game:

Description

Using ScummVM 6.0 for Palm OS, on a Sony Clie NX60.

Various issues involving the user interface that may have problems with other clie models as well.

In part 8 of the ScummVM for PalmOS v0.6.0 documentation by Chris Apers (last updated 2004-01-17) presents a picture of the cursor keys for devices without 5way navigator. These The cursor keys do not work, and won't respond to cursor movement. However the datebk and memo button (left and right mouse respectively) do work.

Also in part 8 the 'back' button for devices with jog dials does not 'end cutscene' as stated. This poses a problem when 'Fullscreen mode' is enabled in 'Misc' with the inability to skip lengthy cutscenes.

One more last point for part 8, in 'devices with jogdials', 'push repeat: show in-game menu'. This is not the case, you need to push and hold for this to work. Although this is more of a documentation error, those who try but aren't cluey enough to try holding it, may think that 'ingame menu' function is inoperable and soft reset their clie instead.

About mouse emulation on non 5-way : Well, sure i can't test on all devices ;), but since i added this option 1year ago, i thought it was working. I'll add a notification into the doc.

Works fine for me ... It seems that all Cli devices (NX60 only ?) haven't the same jogDial implementation (???), i'll check it...
