English version of the game, current ScummVM development version.
This is probably a bug in the original game, and I don't even know if it's possible to fix. But just in case...
Because of the way the inventory works, it was not uncommon for me to accidentally use an object on itself. When that happens while you play as Lockjaw, the game can then still refer to Pepper as the one doing the action. Like this:
I don't understand enough of sluicebox's scripts to figure out where and how this message is printed. It's probably not completely hard-coded; I'm guessing the "key" bit has to be a variable at least. But is the actor too?

I feared as much, but I had to ask. :-)
Closing it as "wontfix", then. I guess that just leaves one remaining Pepper bug report (#15247) and I have no idea where to even start debugging that one.
You're right, we can't do anything about those. Those strings aren't dynamically built; those are all static strings in the message resources, and there are many. There is no logic bug to patch.
