This is on the current daily build for 2.9.0. The bug is very recent (as of June 2024 in particular but I'm not sure when specifically it started showing up).
There is currently a bug in both Backyard Baseball 2001 and Backyard Baseball 2003 that causes certain transparency effects to start flashing in a very eye straining way. This was previously never a problem, so I'm not sure what could have caused it to start happening. It's bad enough to where it could cause problems for those with epilepsy.
The video below shows off the bug in question (the video only uses the 2001 version but it's the same in the 2003 version as well)
